Making a record
was very cool...it
was really my
first experience
in a real
recording
studio...and at
age 19 it was
pretty darn fine...
In October 1974 I joined a band called Sarawest in Toronto
while attending Humber College for Journalism.  We played
lots of great rock and roll with the standard two guitar, bass
and drum set up.  I played bass and sang lead, while George
Vasilou and the other guitarist sang lead as well.  The
drummer was Randy something or other (my memory fails
me…).  Within a month of joining the band we made a record
at Sound Canada Studios in Toronto--it went nowhere really
fast…...but was a lot of fun…

We played some great gigs in the downtown Toronto strip of
the day--Yonge Street Station, and Gasworks etc…..

Moondog at Victoria Park in Lindsay Summer 1977--This performance was
broadcast several times on television in Lindsay.
Moondog was a really fine band with loads of potential.  Paul Morasse (guitar), Tom Evans
(drums), and myself on Vocal and Bass started the band in late 1976.  Tom and I had been
playing off and on since 1971, and Paul had been a regular at the Celeste Coffee House…..Jim
Patterson joined us on Sax and Vocal in 1977 and we played some really great gigs--some
damn fine Beatles medleys, ZZ Top, Max Webster and other great heavier top 40 stuff of the
day.  Jim and I found our voices worked really well together--we had played in several bands by
this time, and enjoyed he mix quite a bit.   Tom had become an excellent power drummer and
Paul had some tasty licks of his own.  In the summer of 1977 Joey Huron, younger brother of Pete
joined the band and experienced his first live gig with Moondog.  Check out his website in the
links page….   By the fall of 1978 Moondog had changed direction with John Steele joining on
bass, myself shifting to Guitar and Paul & Tom carrying on.  Jim had fallen in love and left the
band….

Between June & October 1978, the band had changed several times--Jim Patterson was in and
out of the band several times , John Steele joined in on  bass and I had switched to guitar.
